Q. How long do I have to make a claim?

A. A claim must be made within 3 years of the misdiagnosis or the date that you knew or suspected that you have suffered as a result of the negligent treatment of your condition.If a relative has passed away as a result of the surgery a claim must be brought within 3 years of their date of death if this was caused by the surgery.Where a claim is brought on behalf of a child the 3 year limitation starts to run from the child’s 18th birthday.If the Claimant is a patient who is assessed as not being capable of handling their own claim the time limit (limitation period) does not begin until the legal incapacity is removed.

Q. How much compensation will my claim be worth?

A. This depends on the illness and the impact of the substandard care to your health and recovery, and the effect that this has had on your ability to carry out day to day activities such as caring for yourself, going to work, driving etc.After an initial appointment/discussion we may be able to give you an estimate of the value of your claim
